Some foreign students were invited to Shu Hui house during Chinese New Year. The purpose of the gathering was to introduce the local Chinese celebration culture to foreign students. Invited international students were Rofina, Susanti, Ariunsetseg a.k.a Aini, Marisa and Kawtar. Unfortunately, Marisa and Kawtar were unable to join us on that night. Besides, Richie, Yap and Yee Hui a.k.a Bobo are also invited to the gathering. I apologize for not inviting all of you to come. Since I did not have many helpers, I were not unable to serve too many guests. On that night, we served local Chinese dishes to savor and the must-have Chinese New Year cookies as well.

Hmm.. Not much different. I think it is because my culinary skill is not good.. right?
Left so much.. I am going to save it for my three meals for next day.. =.=

The dessert!! The 'fish' jelly. Nice to see, nice to hold, nice to eat. haha

We served pamelo as well. Maybe we bought from different stall. It tastes a bit sour, sorry guys!
But it should be nice and sweet.

Rofina, Aini and Susanti take a seat in living room..

Richie and Bobo as well...

The Chinese New Year cookies..

Special introduction, Nyonya style pineapple tarts.. Yummy!
The Red Packet (Ang Pau) session was next.. Shu Hui's mom is in the red shirt.

Gong Xi Fa Cai...

The Mandarin Oranges and card was brought by Rofina and Susanti. They are so nice. Thank you very much.
Shu Hui: As the host, I was supposed to give the Mandarin Oranges to guests. Usually I would not eat Mandarin Oranges during New Year. But I did eat this time. It tastes nicer because they were gifts from my dearest friends. ^.^
Last but not least, thank you for coming my house. Special thanks to Richie. I think we had a wonderful and enjoyable night together. Hopefully you guys got to know Malacca's unique food culture and Chinese New Year celebration. Enjoy!!
